Christmas Countdown Ideas

It’s almost the most magical time of the year! Advent began last week but there is something special about December 1 as we countdown or count up to the days leading to Christmas. It is such a special holiday and my kids enjoy all the different traditions that we have. Advent calendars, countdown activity calendars, and Jesse tree ornaments are some of the things that we like to do as a family leading up to Christmas. I’m sharing a free printable and some ideas of things we have done in the past and will be doing in the month of December. Scroll down below to see all of them!

diy Pallet Tree

This Pottery Barn inspired pallet tree was a simple and free project that I did during nap time quite a few years ago. Quick rundown, I cut down the pallet into a tree shape and then painted it all white. I sewed up these linen bags, trimmed them with scrap fabric and then stenciled numbers 1-25 in red paint. I wood glued clothespins to hold up the bags. In each bag I placed a fun treat or small toy for the kids to find each day we got closer to Christmas! Christmas Countdown Activity -Free Printable

Over the years I have made different Christmas activity countdowns so that the kids had something fun to look forward to each day leading up to Christmas. I have changed some of them over the years as my older kids grew. They take turns to excitedly see what the activity of the day will be. I love seeing their excitement and creating more family memories together!

Classic Advent Calendar

Who doesn’t love the classic punch out advent calendars that you see in stores? I picked up a few from Trader Joes so each child would have their own. It’s just an extra special treat that they get each day leading up to Christmas!
